The motivation for this four-storey, mixed-use development was to activate and energize an underutilized street corner in an up-and-coming neighbourhood. At street level, the commercial space encourages pedestrian movement, while the twisting floor plans of the upper residential suites break down the structure's scale, providing a context-sensitive response to the existing neighbourhood.
Our core mandate for this project was to develop an architecture that reverberated its influence far beyond the confines of its property lines, and thus complemented and enhanced the existing qualities of the surrounding neighbourhood.
